The Elementary campus in Smiley, Texas, is seeking a dedicated full-time Campus Receptionist to join its administrative team. This position reports to the Principal and entails providing vital front-office support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the campus administration office. The Campus Receptionist will serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, students, parents, and visitors to the school. Under moderate supervision, the receptionist will respond to inquiries, provide information, and refer individuals to appropriate parties as needed. The role requires effective communication and interpersonal skills, as the receptionist will interact with a diverse range of stakeholders regularly.
In addition to managing visitor traffic and offering clerical support, the receptionist will be responsible for operating general office equipment such as computers, multi-line phones, copiers, and fax machines. The ability to understand and follow detailed verbal and written instructions is crucial for success in this role. The position requires strong organizational skills and proficiency in keyboarding to handle various administrative tasks efficiently.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate effective communication capabilities to thrive in this position. The role involves additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal to support campus operations comprehensively. The work schedule includes 197 workdays per year, aligning with the academic calendar.
Applicants must complete an electronic application process that includes submitting copies of educational credentials, proof of identity, and completing required state and district-mandated training. These trainings cover essential topics such as sexual harassment prevention, reporting of abuse or neglect, student health and safety protocols, behavior management, and compliance with Texas Education Code requirements. A biometric fingerprint-based background check is also required prior to employment.
