The Receptionist role at Encompass Health is integral to maintaining an inviting and organized atmosphere for visitors, patients, and staff. This position serves as the initial point of contact, responsible for managing front desk operations and ensuring smooth communication channels within the hospital. The role involves operating the switchboard, answering and routing calls efficiently, greeting and assisting visitors, and providing clerical support across various departments. Receptionists are responsible for handling administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning documents, and distributing census reports, contributing to the overall operational efficiency of the facility. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to operate switchboard equipment
  • Competency in data entry and computer use
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts (including weekends and holidays)

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Working knowledge of switchboard equipment preferred
  • Ability to use computer systems and complete data entry is preferred
  • Knowledge of 10-key data entry method preferred
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to coordinate, analyze, and make decisions
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts (weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights) as required

Job Duties

  • Answer all incoming calls and route to appropriate area or individual
  • Greet all visitors
  • assist them in signing in and wearing badge
  • Enter and scan deposits, charges, and adjustments as directed
  • Run and distribute census reports each morning and at end of day
  • Assist in the entry of information related to admits, discharges, and physician changes
  • Scan all correspondence and any miscellaneous items
  • Check all therapy charges and attach census to back of each therapist's batch
