Job Description
Porter Scott is a distinguished civil litigation law firm based in Sacramento, renowned for its long-standing commitment to excellence, professionalism, and a collaborative team-first culture. Established in 1976, the firm has built a strong reputation founded on solid relationships not only with its diverse client base but also within the internal team dynamics of the firm itself. Known for its thorough and strategic legal services, Porter Scott brings together a cohesive group of legal and administrative professionals who work collectively towards client success and firm growth. The firm prides itself on fostering a supportive workplace environment that encourages employee development, collaboration, and a shared drive toward achieving outstanding legal outcomes.
Currently, Porter Scott is seeking a Receptionist who will serve as the first point of contact for the firm. This role is vital in maintaining the smooth day-to-day operations that keep the office running efficiently. As the face of Porter Scott, the Receptionist will play an integral part in cultivating a welcoming, professional atmosphere for clients, visitors, and team members alike. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys being central to office activities, and exhibits a proactive approach to supporting multiple teams across the firm. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting visitors, managing a complex multi-line phone system, scheduling and preparing conference rooms for meetings and depositions, and coordinating incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries. Beyond front desk duties, the Receptionist will contribute to keeping the reception and common areas tidy and well-organized, assist with administrative tasks such as scanning, copying, and preparing documents, and manage kitchen and office supplies to ensure uninterrupted office productivity.
The successful candidate will bring a positive and professional demeanor paired with excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Effective communication abilities and comfort with standard office technologies are essential. Prior experience in a professional office environment is preferred, with experience in a legal setting considered a strong advantage but not mandatory. Porter Scott offers more than just a role; it provides a nurturing environment where employees are empowered to grow their careers while benefiting from an extensive benefits package. This includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, participation in a Section 125 flexible spending account, life and long-term disability coverage, and a 401(k) plan with employer contributions. Staff members also enjoy generous paid time off, a monthly cell phone stipend, and contributions towards gym memberships.
The firm is committed to creating a collaborative and supportive culture that values teamwork and professional growth. For candidates who enjoy being the central point of contact, value positive engagement, and take pride in contributing to a productive and friendly office environment, this position at Porter Scott is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and people-focused legal firm. The receptionist will not only be an essential team member but also a key contributor to the firm’s ongoing success and positive work environment.
