The Receptionist at Life Care Centers of America holds a pivotal role as the initial point of contact for all visitors and callers. This clerical position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative support tasks and greeting visitors in a warm, professional manner that reflects the organization's standards and values. The role is integral to ensuring a smooth flow of communication and maintaining the welcoming atmosphere of the facility. The Receptionist must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication and possess strong customer service skills. Additionally, the role requires knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards as they pertain to post-acute care facilities.
Typical duties include answering phones, directing calls, assisting visitors, supporting evacuation efforts in emergencies, and performing clerical tasks with a focus on confidentiality and compliance. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively within an interdisciplinary team. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with either completion of a secretarial science program or a minimum of six months clerical experience. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successfully completed a secretarial science program from accredited college or university OR have a minimum of six months experience in a clerical role
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
- Ability to perform proficiently in all competency areas including patient rights, safety and sanitation
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships with all associates and vendors
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Ability to understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Ability to display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Service as the first point of contact for guests and visitors in person as well as via phone in a friendly and professional manner
- Effectively operate the facility phone and paging system
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients
