Job Description

Intermountain Hospital, located in Boise, Idaho, is a distinguished provider of psychiatric and chemical dependency services since 1980. This reputable 151-bed facility is nestled on 10 scenic acres near the foothills of Idaho's breathtaking Sawtooth Mountains. Dedicated to positively transforming lives affected by mental health challenges and substance use disorders, Intermountain Hospital offers a comprehensive environment focused on healing and recovery. The hospital's inpatient and outpatient programs are designed to meet the unique needs of each patient with specialized, supportive care.

Intermountain Hospital is currently seeking a Receptionist to join their team. The Receptionist will serve as a crucial frontline representative, warmly greeting patients, visitors, and staff at the front desk. This role requires a professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who are committed to patient care. The Receptionist’s responsibilities include managing patient check-in for assessments, answering and directing calls via a multi-line switchboard, handling incoming deliveries, providing clerical support, and maintaining the lobby and triage areas' appearance. Additionally, the Receptionist assists with data processing related to patient admissions, discharges, and transfers within the facility. This position offers a Monday to Friday schedule from 4:30 PM to 11:00 PM, providing a balanced work-life setup for candidates.

Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two years' experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard
  • Preferably experience in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in data entry and clerical duties
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 4:30pm to 11:00pm

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two years' experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet patients, visitors, and staff at the front desk
  • Check in patients for assessments
  • Answer multi-line telephone switchboard and route calls appropriately
  • Accept and direct incoming deliveries
  • Provide clerical support and assist with various clerical projects
  • Maintain the appearance of the lobby and triage rooms
  • Enter patient admissions, discharges, and physician/bed/unit transfers in the data processing system
