As a well-established facility, The Marshes offers a welcoming atmosphere where residents feel valued, safe, and engaged in daily activities that promote well-being and social connection. The community is committed to fostering a professional yet compassionate environment, emphasizing respect, dignity, and personalized care for every resident.
The role of Receptionist at The Marshes of Skidaway Island is vital in supporting the smooth operation of the Health Center and Assisted Living building. This part-time position, offering competitive pay at $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, includes the opportunity for a scholarship and an annual holiday bonus. The position demands working every other weekend, providing essential front desk services during peak times when visitors, residents, and staff rely on professional and friendly interactions.
As the first point of contact for residents, guests, prospective employees, suppliers, vendors, and outside service providers, the Receptionist plays a key role in shaping visitors’ impressions of The Marshes. This role requires a hospitality-focused individual who excels at multitasking, problem-solving, and communication. Daily responsibilities include answering and managing telephone coverage, taking food orders for employees, resolving issues tactfully to avoid escalation, accepting and documenting delivery packages, distributing mail, and preparing maintenance work orders. The Receptionist also enhances operational efficiency by assisting the Administrator with various projects and assignments, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about senior care and engagement, who possesses excellent telephone communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare facility is advantageous, though a high school diploma or GED is the minimum educational requirement. The ideal candidate must be able to work every other weekend with some weekday availability as needed, and must pass a background check and drug screening. The Marshes of Skidaway Island is an equal employment opportunity and E-Verify employer committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace.
Joining The Marshes means becoming part of a dedicated team focused on enriching the lives of seniors through hospitality and compassionate care. If you are enthusiastic, compassionate, and eager to contribute positively to the senior living community, this Receptionist position offers a meaningful and rewarding career opportunity with competitive benefits and a supportive work environment.
