The Marshes of Skidaway Island is currently seeking a hospitality-focused Receptionist to join their team, working every other weekend at their Health Center and Assisted Living building. This role is crucial as it serves as the first point of contact for residents, guests, suppliers, vendors, service providers, and prospective employees. The Receptionist embodies the welcoming spirit of the community, greeting everyone with warmth and professionalism. The position offers an hourly wage between $17.00 and $18.00, along with a scholarship opportunity and an annual holiday bonus, reflecting the employer's dedication to rewarding committed team members.
The Receptionist will be responsible for a variety of duties including answering phones, managing delivery packages, distributing mail, taking meal orders, and helping to resolve issues in a manner that meets both organizational goals and individual satisfaction. They will also assist the Administrator with special projects and ensure smooth operational flow. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
- must demonstrate excellent telephone communication skills
- previous experience working in long term care or healthcare facility a plus
- ability to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- some availability and flexibility to work during week when needed preferred
- must be able to pass background check and drug screen

Job Duties
- Provide ongoing telephone coverage
- take employee lunch/dinner orders
- solve issues presented by residents, guests, vendors, and suppliers in a manner so that both the organizational objectives are met, as well as the individuals feel they were served appropriately
- keep difficult situations from escalating
- accept delivery packages, document receipt of packages in log book, and notify the resident (recipient) of delivery
- distribute mail
- prepare maintenance work orders as requested by residents and staff
- assist the Administrator with projects/assignments
