The Receptionist at Cottonwood Creek Behavioral Hospital is responsible for providing general reception and clerical support services that are executed timely, accurately, and efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining the daily operations at the facility, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission guidelines, federal and state regulations, the hospital’s mission, policies and procedures, and performance improvement standards.
The position is scheduled for 24 hours per week, typically involving two 12-hour shifts. It demands outstanding interpersonal skills to handle calls and interactions with professionalism, appropriate etiquette, and a willingness to assist others promptly. The Receptionist is expected to answer the switchboard, assist administrative personnel with clerical tasks, and maintain a positive and proactive attitude in addressing challenges and finding solutions. Stress management, constructive feedback reception, and a customer-focused approach are essential qualities for success in this role.
Additionally, the Receptionist contributes to the hospital's supportive atmosphere by demonstrating empathy, respect for dignity, and cultural sensitivity when interacting with diverse populations. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one year experience as a general receptionist
- Experience with computer use
- Ability to read, write, and follow both verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work well with diverse populations
- Must apply age, disability, and cultural specific knowledge when communicating
- Good physical and mental health
- Warm, empathetic attitude with respect for client dignity
- High sense of personal integrity
- Ability to work under close supervision
- Must complete CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program
- Ability to cope with interruptions and multiple calls
- Capacity to handle high-paced and stressful work environment
- Predominantly indoor work environment with protection from weather but not necessarily temperature changes
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Experience as a general receptionist for at least one year
- Proficiency with computers
- Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills to work well with diverse populations
- Knowledge of age, disability, and cultural specific communication techniques
- Good physical and mental health
- Empathetic attitude with respect for client dignity
- Ability to work under close supervision
- CPR certification

Job Duties
- Answering switchboard and assisting in clerical tasks as needed by administrative personnel
