Job Description
Elizabeth Layton Center (ELC) is a distinguished Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) with locations in Ottawa and Paola, Kansas. The organization is committed to providing accessible and integrated behavioral health services, with a strong focus on serving underserved populations who face unique challenges due to their life circumstances. The Elizabeth Layton Center is currently seeking a Receptionist to join its Operations team based at the Ottawa location. This full-time role is vital to the smooth functioning of the clinic, acting as the first point of contact for clients and visitors. The Receptionist will be responsible for greeting all clients with warmth and professionalism, managing a multi-line telephone system, scheduling appointments efficiently, and assisting with various clerical tasks that support the care delivery system. Operating under the supervision of the Operations Director, the Receptionist plays a key role in maintaining the clinic's welcoming atmosphere and ensuring client information is handled accurately and confidentially.
This position requires a proactive individual who can maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor, handle administrative duties effectively, and contribute to the overall mission of ELC by supporting both clients and staff. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with one evening shift per week to accommodate clinic hours. Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent
- previous clerical or general office experience or training required
- previous computer, typing and data entry experience required
- previous customer service experience required
- ability to perform tasks accurately, effectively and in a timely manner
- general knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- ability to perform basic mathematic calculations accurately
- ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately
- ability to operate a typewriter, calculator, computer and other general office equipment
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials and the public
- ability to be pleasant, friendly, and helpful to staff and visitors at all times
- ability to retain relevant vital information and relay information to others as appropriate
- ability to safely perform safely essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Greets all clients and visitors to the Elizabeth Layton Center
- answers multi-line telephone system, assess calls for emergency, screen/transfer calls, and take messages as needed
- collects fees and other pertinent information when client arrives
- copies medical cards and insurance cards, when necessary
- informs clinician that client has arrived
- enters information into the appointment scheduler program
- makes reminder calls, reschedules appointments, and back-fills provider schedules
- orders supplies for the Ottawa location
- obtains appropriate releases of information, when necessary
- prepares packets for intakes and screens as necessary
- provide evening reception coverage when needed
- arrives for work on time
- ability to be pleasant, friendly, and helpful to staff and visitors at all times
- ability to retain relevant vital information and relay information to others as appropriate
- perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee
- complies with ELC policies and procedures
