Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year of clerical experience or secretarial science program completion
  • Ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with various individuals
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately
  • Proficiency with basic office technology including 10-key calculators and computer systems
  • Must pass background check, physical exam, and drug screening
  • Commitment to compassionate and professional conduct in a healthcare setting

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least one year of clerical experience or completed secretarial science program from an accredited school or college
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Proficiency in using a 10-key calculator and computer data entry systems
  • Successful completion of background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening

Job Duties

  • Receive and follow reception schedule and instructions from supervisor
  • Operate paging and telephone systems
  • Answer telephones, determine nature of call, and direct caller to appropriate individual or department
  • Receive requests from within the facility and locate personnel through paging system
  • Receive inquiries and release information according to policies and procedures
  • Maintain current file/listing of residents, emergency phone members, department extensions, and key personnel
  • Maintain listing of critical residents and refer calls to Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse when required
