Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Must have restaurant reception experience
  • Has a passion for exceptional hospitality in food and beverage
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general directions, travel times and access points to various forms of transportation
  • Operates at a high level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • TIPS Certification preferred
  • NYC DOH certification preferred
  • Familiarity with restaurant POS and reservations systems is preferred
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems such as Tevalis and SevenRooms required
  • Knowledge of phone systems and proper phone etiquette, or ability to learn
  • Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
  • Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is always welcomed
  • Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally
  • Able to work well in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the reception area at all times whilst on shift and making sure that the guests are properly guided or checked in for multiple dining rooms and bars
  • Ensuring all members are welcomed to the club using the appropriate name or title
  • To ensure all club rules set out in the member handbook are adhered to by our members and their guests
  • To ensure the dress code is adhered to at all times and advising members and their guests accordingly
  • To ensure all members and their guests are accounted for in the signing-in system by the team and all other guests of management or trades people are verified and logged before entry
  • Monitoring all bookings, guest lists, function sheets etc. for accuracy before the start of each service
  • Directing people to the relevant areas on arrival at the club and uniting members with their guests
  • Overseeing all general enquiries, emails and messages and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately
  • To carry out a head count of all members and guests at 2am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
  • Ensuring the reception team deal with any lost property queries, liaising with the member or guest when necessary
  • Ensuring the cloakroom is fully equipped and organized
  • Enforcing the staff grooming policy for reception, ensuring uniforms are in perfect condition, ordering and arranging repairs, cleaning etc. when needed
  • To attend any management meetings when necessary
  • Answering the telephone, dealing with all enquiries and bookings as necessary
  • Respond to and deal with emails from various teams within Maxime's
  • To ensure the Reception Area is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • To ensure the heating, lighting and music are at the correct levels to preserve the correct ambience in reception
  • Monitoring the weather and open or close canopies as required
  • All alarms in the reception area are to be monitored and dealt with as necessary
