Job Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must not pose a direct threat to health or safety of others
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the public
- Must remain calm and level-headed in emergencies
- Well groomed and professional appearance
- Ability to work harmoniously with others
- Willingness to learn and incorporate new methods
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to operate computers, copier, fax, postage meter, intercom, telephone
- Comfortable learning new computer systems
- Ability to stand/walk up to two hours a day
- Ability to sit up to eight hours a day
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to kneel, bend, and reach
- Ability to assist with evacuation of residents
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a receptionist or administrative role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Knowledge of HIPAA and resident rights preferred
- Proficiency with computer systems and software
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Emotional stability and ability to work in a healthcare environment
Job Duties
- Welcomes visitors and answers incoming calls in a warm and professional manner
- Maintains a clean and neat reception area
- Handles resident services and community tasks as assigned
- Operates paging and telephone systems
- Sorts and distributes mail
- Prepares outgoing community mail
- Maintains listings of residents and staff
- Reports equipment malfunctions
- Organizes information packets for job applicants and new staff
- Performs clerical duties including typing, copying, and faxing
- Attends staff meetings
- Ensures compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies
- Assists with resident admissions, discharges, and readmissions
- Maintains a welcoming environment
