The role of Receiving Supervisor - 2nd Shift at the Savannah, GA distribution facility is a critical leadership position within Shaw Industries' logistics and supply chain operations. This role is designed for a motivated and people-focused professional who will oversee the daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that the flow of flooring materials is managed efficiently from receiving through storage, processing, and shipping to delivery. As a key member of the management team, the Receiving Supervisor is responsible for maintaining high standards of accuracy, productivity, and safety while fostering an environment that promotes teamwork and employee development.
This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who is adept at problem-solving and capable of managing high-paced distribution activities. The Receiving Supervisor will support multiple internal stakeholders including customers, sales, and various internal departments to resolve delivery issues and optimize operational processes. Additionally, the role requires the ability to lead and develop a diverse team, maintain meticulous employee documentation, enforce adherence to safety and quality standards, and ensure compliance with company policies. The supervisor will also actively participate in training and mentoring staff, filling in operational roles when needed to maximize efficiency, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
The work schedule for this role is an 8-hour non-rotating shift starting in the evening, tailored to fit into the company’s operations calendar and designed to maintain a consistent workflow. Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and 2+ years of previous Lead or Supervisory experience or 4 year degree and 1+ year of Lead or Supervisory experience
- 2+ years previous Distribution experience required
- good communication skills, both verbal and written
- good computer skills including but not limited to MS Office or Google, and other software programs
- must be self-motivated and results oriented
- must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization and work with little supervision

Job Duties
- Provide assistance to the Management Team in decision making
- establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all employees in the facility
- maintain employees' required documentation, conduct employee meetings to discuss safety, quality, productivity, and policy requirements, ensure disciplinary action when necessary, and ensure proper procedures are followed based on job requirements
- motivate employees to achieve facility goals and to improve themselves
- become knowledgeable of all staff positions and possess the ability to assist, fill in and/or train associates as needed while ensuring effective utilization of transportation equipment and personnel
- assist customers, Customer Service, and Sales with delivery issues
- candidate must be able to drive a lift truck
