Job Description
Ohio Ready Mix, Inc. is the leading provider of ready mixed concrete in Ohio, known for its commitment to quality products and exceptional service. Alongside Duff Quarry, Inc., an established Ohio company specializing in crushed stone, sand, and gravel, these family-owned and operated businesses have served West Central Ohio for over 50 years. Headquartered in Huntsville with plants located in Marysville, Bellefontaine, and Plain City, the companies have consistently grown by leveraging industry knowledge, ethical business practices, and advanced crushing technology. Their products have been integral in building factories, bridges, roads, and sidewalks throughout the region, forming a foundation that customers can rely on. This sustained success speaks to a deep dedication to quality and service in the construction materials industry.
The Ready Mix Driver position at Ohio Ready Mix, Inc. offers a vital role in delivering high-quality concrete products to diverse construction sites and residential locations throughout Greater West Central Ohio. This full-time role involves the safe, timely transportation and delivery of ready mixed concrete and related materials from batch plants directly to job sites. The driver ensures concrete is handled properly to maintain its quality during transport and executes loading, unloading, and maintenance of the delivery truck to ensure operational safety and environmental compliance. The role demands a proactive and safety-conscious individual capable of managing early morning shifts, including 10- to 12-hour days during peak seasons, with guaranteed 40 hours of work year-round.
This position offers competitive compensation, with a starting pay of $26 per hour and the potential for overtime. Ohio Ready Mix also provides a robust benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance options with significant employer contributions, paid time off starting early in employment, and company-paid life insurance. Employees can also benefit from wellness programs, gym reimbursements, and employer-sponsored retirement plans such as a 401(k) with matching contributions. Additional incentives like a Rocketstart Bonus Program encourage safe and consistent performance. The company prioritizes employee development through paid orientation, training, and providing necessary personal protective equipment and uniforms.
The Ready Mix Driver role requires a high level of responsibility and skill, including conducting pre-trip inspections per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining positive customer relations, and performing routine truck maintenance. The driver must have a valid Class A or Class B license, a clean motor vehicle record, and preferably at least one year of ready-mix truck operation experience. Physical demands include the ability to lift and maneuver equipment weighing between 25 to 75 pounds regularly. Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are critical to success in this role.
Overall, this opportunity is well suited for individuals seeking a stable, rewarding career within a respected, family-run company that values its workforce and provides the resources necessary for professional growth and development in the construction materials industry.
