The Ready Mix Driver role at Knife River is vital to the delivery of quality concrete products to diverse job sites. This role involves operating a ready mix truck to load, transport, and unload ready mixed concrete while consistently adhering to safety standards and maintaining excellent customer service. The position requires a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and team members, alongside a solid understanding of material properties to ensure delivery meets the exact specifications required by contractors. Typically, the work schedule spans Monday through Friday with early production hours from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM and maintenance hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, although hours may shift depending on weather conditions and customer demands. Knife River is actively hiring full-time, part-time, and seasonal drivers to join their expanding workforce, emphasizing flexibility and support in employment options.

In this role, Ready Mix Drivers are entrusted with performing daily inspections and basic maintenance of their trucks, including fluid checks and tire pressure assessments, which help to maintain equipment in top condition and promote safety. Precise operation of the truck’s concrete mixer is essential, requiring adjustment of drum revolutions and moisture content to meet job specifications, promoting the delivery of high-quality concrete. The driver is also responsible for efficient unloading procedures and keeping detailed records of product changes, environmental conditions, and timekeeping—all essential for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
