In this role, the Ready-Mix Driver is responsible for a variety of tasks critical to the successful delivery and handling of concrete. Duties include conducting pre- and post-trip inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, managing water tanks and mixer operations to ensure concrete is correctly loaded and transported, and safely maneuvering trucks in potentially unstable ground conditions at job sites. The driver must also be adept at communicating effectively with dispatch via two-way radios and other equipment, handling paper documentation and cash transactions, and maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of their vehicle. Furthermore, drivers must add necessary admixtures and ancillary products as instructed and ensure the proper discharge and washing of chutes after use. They play a key role in upholding the company’s image through professionalism and maintaining positive relationships with peers, suppliers, and customers.
