Job Description
Concrete Supply, LLC, a proud member of the CRH family, operates as a leading supplier of quality ready mixed concrete products to the construction markets in Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky. As part of CRH, one of the largest building materials companies in North America, Concrete Supply offers innovative industry solutions combined with expertise in design and delivery. The organization's strong regional presence is supported by CRH’s extensive network, which includes being the number one asphalt producer and paver, the largest aggregates producer, and the second largest ready-mix producer in North America. This connection ensures that employees benefit from the resources and career opportunities of a large enterprise while enjoying the culture and environment of a smaller company.
The role of the Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver at Concrete Supply is critical to the delivery of high-quality concrete products to various job sites. This is a full-time position based in Evansville, Indiana, requiring a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and commitment to safety and professionalism. The chosen candidate will operate a truck fitted with an auxiliary concrete mixer, responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering ready mixed concrete to construction sites accurately and efficiently.
In this role, the mixer driver is expected to handle daily operational duties such as positioning the truck under loading hoppers, starting and controlling the concrete mixer, and maneuvering the vehicle safely to the unloading site. It also involves managing the physical placement of concrete by operating the truck’s discharge chute or assisting with direct placement using tools like wheelbarrows or other containers. Maintaining the cleanliness and operational condition of the truck is essential to prevent concrete hardening inside the mixer or on the vehicle, which includes regular cleaning and spraying protective compounds on surfaces.
The driver plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and courteous transportation of materials, complying with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and company policies. Communication skills are important, as the role often requires interaction with customers to help place and spread concrete correctly. Attention to detail, such as ensuring paperwork is complete and equipment inspections are conducted regularly, is vital. The job demands physical stamina, as the driver must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks in varying weather conditions, handling equipment with precision and care.
Concrete Supply stands out for fostering an inclusive and growth-oriented culture where employees are encouraged to develop their skills and pursue internal career advancement. The company supports its workforce with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, disability plans, retirement savings, and health and wellness programs. Employees can expect a work environment that values teamwork, safety, and professionalism, with strict adherence to safety manuals and company protocols to ensure high standards across all operations.
The Ready Mix Concrete Truck Driver position offers rewarding challenges and opportunities to be part of a reputable company dedicated to quality and innovation in the construction materials industry. Candidates must be prepared for occasional night and weekend work and be dependable in attendance and punctuality. This role is suited for individuals who enjoy working independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and customer service at all times.
If you are ready to join a dynamic and supportive workplace and contribute to the success of a major supplier in the concrete industry, this opportunity with Concrete Supply, LLC, a CRH company, could be the perfect fit. The company is committed to equal opportunity employment and encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply, underscoring its dedication to workplace inclusivity and respect for all individuals.
