Job Description
This company specializes in the delivery and transportation of concrete products, serving clients in the construction and industrial sectors. Established with a commitment to maintaining high safety standards and efficient service, the company operates a fleet of well-maintained concrete mixer trucks. Their focus is on providing reliable, timely deliveries of concrete to various job sites while adhering to rigorous safety protocols and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The company culture emphasizes safety, quality, and customer service, ensuring both internal and external clients receive optimal support throughout the delivery process.
The role being offered is for a Concrete Mixer Truck Driver, a critical position responsible for safely operating concrete mixer trucks to deliver concrete to designated job sites. This full-time role entails performing daily safety checks on the vehicle and equipment to ensure operational safety and compliance with company policies. The driver will be responsible for backing the truck under the loading hopper, assembling and attaching concrete chutes, and controlling the discharge of concrete according to specific job requirements. The job requires coordination with dispatch personnel to follow delivery schedules accurately.
In addition to driving responsibilities, the driver must document and report any vehicle maintenance needs and perform minor maintenance tasks such as checking tire pressure, oil changes, and lubrication to maintain the truck's performance. After deliveries, the driver must thoroughly wash out the truck to prevent concrete hardening that could impair the vehicle's functionality. The role demands a high level of physical capability, including the frequent lifting and moving of up to 60 pounds and the ability to manage various physical activities such as standing, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
Candidates for this position need a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and must meet the company's insurability and Department of Transportation physical requirements. The role may require working flexible hours, including late or irregular shifts during busy seasons. Previous experience or knowledge of construction and construction products is advantageous, as it aids in understanding job site conditions and customer service expectations. This position is well-suited to individuals who value safety, precision, and reliability and who are committed to maintaining the highest standards in vehicle operation and customer interaction.
