Job Description

The hiring establishment is a reputable company operating within the construction materials industry, specializing in the delivery and handling of concrete and related products. This company is renowned for its commitment to safety, quality, and customer service, making it a preferred supplier for numerous construction and infrastructure projects. With a strong emphasis on operational excellence and robust safety programs, it ensures that its workforce is well-trained and equipped to meet the dynamic needs of job sites and adhere to stringent safety standards.

As a Concrete Mixer Truck Driver, the role centers around the safe, timely, and efficient transportation and handling of ready-mix concrete to various construction sites. This full-time position demands a high level of responsibility, as the driver must execute a range of tasks ensuring compliance with company safety policies, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and operational procedures. The driver will perform comprehensive pre-and post-trip inspections on the vehicle and equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Reporting any maintenance issues promptly plays a vital role in maintaining the reliability of the fleet.

The operator is expected to skillfully maneuver the truck, backing it under loading hoppers to receive concrete mix and subsequently transporting it to designated job sites. At the site, the driver assembles and attaches the concrete chute to the mixer truck to precisely discharge the concrete according to the specifications provided. Post-delivery, the driver is responsible for thorough cleaning of the truck to prevent concrete from hardening within the mixer or on the vehicle, thereby preserving equipment longevity and operational readiness.

In addition to driving and handling concrete, the role requires minor maintenance duties such as checking tire pressure, changing oil, and lubricating the vehicle as necessary. The driver must be adaptable to flexible schedules, especially during peak seasons, and be comfortable working late or irregular hours. Prior knowledge of construction processes and products can be advantageous but is not mandatory. Essential to the role is a strong understanding of internal and external customer service responsibilities, ensuring positive interactions with clients and site personnel.

Physically, the job demands considerable exertion; frequent lifting of up to 60 pounds, handling of various equipment during load preparation, and the capability to operate controls requiring dexterity and precision. The work involves a variety of physical postures, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, alongside a requirement for good vision and hearing. Compliance with the company's safety policies, including the use of required protective gear, is imperative.

This role is ideal for candidates with a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), a high school diploma or equivalent, and the physical stamina to meet job demands.
