Job Requirements

  • BS degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with current dietetic registration and appropriate state licensure
  • ability to attend annual continuing education units both virtual and in-person
  • certification in safe food handling and sanitation such as ServSafe
  • proven clinical or related work experience preferred
  • willingness to comply with professional and safety protocols
  • ability to perform duties requiring physical stamina such as sitting, standing, walking, and communication
  • ability to maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to dress and behavioral standards
  • capacity to work indoors and outdoors with occasional physical activities
  • availability to use personal protective equipment and follow hygiene standards
  • commitment to upholding equal employment opportunity principles

Job Qualifications

  • BS degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with current dietetic registration and state licensure if required
  • annual attendance at virtual and in-person continuing education opportunities with CEU logging
  • ServSafe and/or state certification in safe food handling and sanitation
  • three years clinical or related experience preferred
  • master's degree in related field preferred
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • demonstrated supervisory and leadership abilities
  • excellent customer service skills
  • critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities

Job Duties

  • Supervises and directs the daily operations of Registered Dietitians
  • assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates, work methods, procedures, workflow, and standards for quality and quantity of work
  • participates in the organization of clinical office space to ensure that relevant clinical references and resources are current and available
  • communicates regularly with physicians, nursing staff, other support staff, patients, and family members regarding patient care
  • manages Registered Dietitian staffing and scheduling functions to achieve department objectives, cost effective staffing, and productivity targets
  • coordinates orientation and training of new Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Interns
  • assists with department in-service and competency education
  • mentors staff and identifies and addresses staff deficiencies
  • collaborates with Clinical Nutrition Manager on human resources functions including recruitment/interviewing, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and staff meetings
  • develops policies, diet practice guidelines, and monitors quality improvement programs
  • maintains professional interaction across the healthcare team and participates in interdisciplinary teams and committees
  • collaborates on patient food service functions such as menu development, tray line management, nourishment room management, unit host training, and patient satisfaction
  • performs essential duties of Registered Dietitian and Clinical Nutrition Manager as needed
  • performs other duties as assigned
