Job Description

Bridor North America is a leading premium bakery company renowned for its commitment to blending artisan craftsmanship with large-scale production. Established as a pioneer in delivering high-quality bakery products across North America, Bridor focuses on innovation, tradition, and quality, positioning itself as a top player in the food manufacturing sector. The company specializes in bringing authentic French and Viennese bakery techniques to the industrial scale, catering to a broad market with a diverse product line that includes laminated doughs, croissants, Viennese pastries, and artisan breads. Bridor's operations are grounded in stringent quality standards and a passion for bakery excellence, ensuring that every product meets the highest expectations of taste and texture.

Bridor North America is expanding its footprint with a new Industrial Baking Facility located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Salt Lake City is emerging as a vibrant food manufacturing hub, offering a favorable environment for growth with a strong quality of life and a lower cost of living compared to other metropolitan areas. This expansion represents a significant opportunity for professionals seeking to advance their careers in artisan and industrial bakery innovation while enjoying the benefits of a supportive community and a dynamic work environment.

The role available is that of an R&D Baker Tourier Specialist, a unique position designed for individuals passionate about artisan baking and interested in bridging traditional baking artistry with modern industrial techniques. This is a hands-on research and development role, focused on taking products from initial concept through to full-scale commercialization in a high-volume manufacturing setting. The specialist will play a critical role in maintaining the authenticity and quality of artisan bakery items while optimizing processes to meet large-scale production demands. Unlike bench-only roles, this position requires active engagement with production environments and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product excellence and operational efficiency.

As the R&D Baker Tourier Specialist, you will be responsible for developing a variety of laminated dough products such as croissants and puff pastries, alongside Viennese pastries and artisan breads. Your expertise in traditional French and Viennese baking techniques will be essential in translating these artisanal methods into scalable industrial processes without compromising quality. This role demands leading plant trials, scale-ups, and new product launches, working closely with departments such as Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Finance to support cost management, efficiency improvements, and performance optimization. Furthermore, the position involves conducting tastings, evaluating product performance, and documenting technical outcomes to continually refine product formulations and processes.

This role also offers the chance to stay at the forefront of bakery innovation, with a focus on ingredient trends, process enhancements, and industry best practices. It is ideal for someone with a strong background in bakery R&D, particularly with hands-on experience in laminated dough systems and industrial production environments. The position requires relocation to Salt Lake City, Utah, providing an exciting opportunity for candidates to enjoy a fresh personal and professional change by living in a thriving food manufacturing community with a high quality of life.
