Job Description

The Raley's Companies is a private, family-owned, and purpose-driven retail company headquartered in West Sacramento, California. Established in 1935, Raley's has grown impressively from a local grocery store to a multi-state retail operation with over 235 locations across four states and four Tribal Nations. The company operates under eight well-known banners, including Raley's, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods, Raley's O-N-E Market, Bashas', Food City, AJ's Fine Foods, and Bashas' Diné Market. These banners collectively serve a diverse customer base with a focus on quality, innovation, and community commitment. Raley's employs over 21,000 team members who are dedicated to delivering exceptional service, high-quality products, and fostering strong relationships with communities and the environment.

Raley's commitment extends beyond providing groceries; it aims to be a trusted source of nutrition and wellness. The company emphasizes transparency and education in the food system to help customers make informed and health-conscious choices. Its stores feature fresh products, affordable options, and personalized service that aim to improve the overall shopping experience. Raley's legacy of innovation is evident in how it serves the community, focusing on changing the way the world eats, one plate at a time.

The available position is for a Production Bakery Decorator in the company's bakery production operation. Reporting under general supervision, this role involves a variety of decorating skills, including cutting, prepping, and filling bakery products. The decorator uses several tools and equipment, such as pastry bags, bowl knives, and large mixers, to create an extensive range of decorated cakes and pastries. The position is physically demanding and requires the production of high volumes of decorated bakery items, adhering strictly to quality and safety guidelines.

A typical workweek consists of 8-hour shifts over 5 days and may include weekends based on production needs. The bakery operation runs up to seven days a week, with day or night shift options. Overtime is mandatory at times, with possible six-day workweeks. The role demands continuous standing and moving within the cake room, lifting items ranging from very light up to 100 pounds occasionally, and performing repetitive movements such as twisting, bending, and grasping to decorate and assemble bakery products. This job requires both teamwork and the ability to work independently and responsibly.

The Production Bakery Decorator position offers an enriching opportunity to work in a fun and dynamic environment where employees support community nourishment through quality bakery products. The company encourages personal growth through tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package. As part of a large, reputable retail company, decorators gain the chance to develop skills in a professional kitchen setting while contributing to the success of a respected retail brand focused on community and wellness.
