Job Description

The Rochester Athletic Club (RAC) is a premier fitness and recreational facility that offers a wide variety of health and wellness services to its members. Known for its comprehensive fitness programs and modern equipment, RAC provides a welcoming environment where individuals can pursue their fitness goals with the support of professional staff and a vibrant community atmosphere. The club prides itself on maintaining clean, safe, and well-functioning facilities to ensure every member has an exceptional experience.

The RAC is currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Fitness Floor Associates to join their team. This role primarily involves maintaining the fitness floor area in a tidy, clean, and operational condition during evening closing shifts from 5:00 PM to 10:30 PM and various weekend shifts. Fitness Floor Associates play a crucial part in enhancing the member experience by ensuring that the workout environment is inviting, safe, and well-maintained. The role requires individuals who are proactive, attentive to detail, and capable of engaging positively with members.

As a Fitness Floor Associate, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the fitness areas including dusting, vacuuming, and putting equipment away, thus contributing directly to the cleanliness and organization of the facility. Managing towel service and replenishing hydration station supplies such as water bottles are also key parts of the duties. You will assist members by answering questions, demonstrating how to use equipment, and enforcing fitness floor rules to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all.

The ideal candidate is at least 18 years old and possesses a confident and engaging personality that positively impacts both individuals and groups. You should be a self-starter with strong initiative, comfortable solving problems, and able to foster cooperation among staff and members. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport effortlessly are essential, as is a flexible schedule to adapt to changing conditions within the club. Being empathetic and motivated by helping others will allow you to thrive in this fast-paced and action-oriented role.

CPR/AED certification is required, but training is available in-house if needed, which demonstrates RAC’s commitment to safety and staff development. Punctuality, reliability, and a sincere appreciation for people and their unique motivations contribute significantly to success in this position. By joining the RAC team, you will become part of an organization that values health, wellness, and exceptional member service, making a positive difference in the lives of those who use the facility.

If you are passionate about fitness, enjoy working in a collaborative and dynamic team environment, and want to contribute to creating a positive member experience at a respected athletic club, then this role at Rochester Athletic Club could be an excellent fit for you. Please specify your availability and the shifts you desire when applying digitally to ensure the best match for your schedule and the club’s needs.
