Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Firefighter II
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Airport Fire Fighter
- IFSAC, Pro-Board/DoD, or State Certified Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations Level
- CPR certification
- National Incident Management System (NIMS): ICS 100 and 200
- Two years previous full-time, volunteer or paid on-call firefighting experience
- Physical ability to lift up to safety regulation maximum, climb, crawl, and drag hoses
- Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
- Successful completion of medical and dental examinations required by NSF
- Successful completion of drug screening and background checks required by employer and NSF
- Willingness and ability to perform physical activities in extreme weather conditions
- Participation in community programs
- Valid United States driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization with US citizenship

Job Duties
- Maintain a safe workplace and prioritize safety in all activities
- Comply with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements
- Provide fire, EMS, crash fire (ARFF), and hazardous materials emergency response
- Implement USAP Fire Prevention Plan and ensure emergency equipment operability
- Operate firefighting vehicles and equipment within guidelines
- Respond to emergencies, disasters, and hazardous materials spills as outlined in Disaster Preparedness Plan
- Participate in ongoing training for compliance with OSHA, EH&S, Fire, EMS, and Hazmat standards
- Support Operations Division metrics and contractual commitments
- Interact professionally with NSF, military, and agency officials
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
