The role of Quality Control and Assurance Manager at WIKA is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the company’s quality management system. This leadership position entails overseeing a team dedicated to quality control and assurance activities, including both exempt and non-exempt employees. The individual will be responsible for investigating and resolving customer issues and complaints related to product quality, ensuring that all inspection, testing, measurement, and analysis functions comply fully with ISO-9001:2015 standards. A deep understanding and ongoing engagement with quality management procedures, work instructions, internal audits, corrective actions, and management reviews are essential for success in this role.

This role requires close collaboration with department managers to support their responsibilities within the Quality Management System (QMS), facilitating training and compliance updates. The manager will conduct quarterly management reviews and produce necessary QMS reports aligned with both ISO requirements and WIKA corporate guidelines. Leading continuous improvement initiatives is a key aspect of the job, working alongside the Corporate Continuous Improvement team to drive process enhancements and foster a culture of prevention throughout the organization.

Direct management of quality control, inspection, testing personnel, and continuous improvement efforts ensures effective time management and maintenance of high technical standards. Oversight of document control activities is vital to maintain adherence to established standards and protocols. The manager will provide ongoing instruction, training, and development for staff, as well as conduct performance evaluations and manage attendance records, including PTO scheduling and error corrections. Enforcing company policies and work rules through corrective actions as necessary underpins the role’s commitment to compliance and operational integrity.

Engagement with cross-functional teams drives the adoption of QMS best practices and supports the achievement of quality objectives, including monitoring performance related to the cost of poor quality. Collaboration with Level II and III Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) personnel ensures inspection criteria and procedures meet stringent quality benchmarks. Managing the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process, documenting and tracking issues, and guiding corrective and preventative actions are key responsibilities, as is supporting customer service, sales, and operations teams with customer returns and complaints.

The position also includes coordinating third-party inspections and testing both on and offsite, ensuring all calibration and testing equipment meets industry standards and certifications. Accurate and timely documentation from contract review through product receipt is managed directly by the role. Internal and vendor audits support ongoing certification requirements, with focus on certifications such as ATEX, FM, CSA, ISO, ASME, PED, IECEx, 3A Sanitary, SIL, and GOST. The manager is also responsible for weld procedure management across projects and onsite services, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met. Ancillary duties as assigned complete this comprehensive and critical quality leadership role.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance roles
  • Proven leadership experience managing a quality-focused team
  • Strong knowledge of ISO-9001:2015 standards and Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with internal and external audits and corrective action processes
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent communication and training skills
  • Ability to manage document control processes
  • Experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) standards and procedures

Job Duties

  • Leads team of QC and QA-focused employees
  • Investigates and corrects customer issues and complaints related to quality
  • Maintains procedures, work instructions, internal audits, corrective actions, management reviews as per Quality Management System
  • Trains and assists department managers with their QMS roles
  • Conducts quarterly management reviews and QMS reporting
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives with Corporate CI team
  • Manages quality control, inspection, testing activities and ensures effective time management
  • Oversees site document control and enforces standards and protocols
  • Provides training for new and existing employees
  • Completes performance evaluations and manages schedules including PTO and punch corrections
  • Enforces work rules and creates corrective actions
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to promote QMS culture
  • Tracks and reports performance and Cost of Poor Quality
  • Works with Level II and III NDT personnel on inspection criteria
  • Develops and investigates corrective actions to prevent quality issues
  • Manages Non-Conformance Report process and drives improvement actions
