Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience or training in materials testing preferred
Knowledge of construction and mining site hazards
Proficient math skills for arithmetic calculations
Ability to operate computerized equipment and software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work 100% onsite in office and plant locations

Job Qualifications

Prior training or experience in the materials testing field is preferred
Knowledge of general principles and practices of aggregate production is preferred
Must display knowledge and awareness of construction and mining site hazards
Good math skills with ability to perform simple to moderately complex arithmetic calculations
Ability to use computerized equipment and technology proficiently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Oracle Business Environment, and other relevant software packages

Job Duties

Ensure quality control by conducting routine testing of in-process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, and finished materials to ensure quality control of products at production, shipping, and job site arrival
Adhere to established testing methods including ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards
Document and report all test results accurately and timely
Communicate test outcomes to supervisors and maintain proper documentation in the database
Maintain lab standards by ensuring housekeeping, troubleshooting problems, reviewing product specifications, and calibrating and maintaining testing equipment
Monitor stockpiles for segregation and contamination, inspecting materials and truckloads at plant sites and notifying management of contamination issues
Conduct routine inspections of plant equipment and structures to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations
Perform additional duties as assigned
