The Quality Control Technician role at Shasta Beverages is integral to maintaining and enhancing the company’s quality assurance programs. Physical demands are an important consideration for this position, as it requires regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to manufacturing and warehouse settings, necessitating compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines to ensure employee safety. The position requires flexibility with scheduling, including availability for weekends and holidays, and mandates reliable transportation for site visits within the service area.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years relevant hands-on work experience
  • strong knowledge of quality control testing procedures
  • ability to accurately document and evaluate quality data
  • excellent computer literacy including Excel and Word
  • strong communication skills
  • must be 18 years or older
  • pass background and drug examination
  • ability to work flexible full-time schedule including weekends and holidays
  • must have reliable transportation
  • willingness to comply with PPE requirements
  • must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • adhere to safety and regulatory standards

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 2-3 years hands-on experience in carbonated soft drink industry preferred
  • experience in quality control testing and sanitation of beverage equipment
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft business applications and reporting software
  • exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • knowledge of OSHA required training
  • ability to troubleshoot quality issues and recommend improvements
  • familiarity with HACCP principles and quality assurance practices

Job Duties

  • Maintain all HACCP and food safety records
  • conduct plant audits and mock recall programs
  • train plant staff on quality procedures

  • test concentrate ingredients and finished beverage products
