Job Description
The position is with Marriott International, a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry known for its commitment to high-quality guest experiences and employee development. Marriott International operates numerous brands and hotels worldwide, each dedicated to providing exceptional service and memorable stays for guests. One of its notable brands is the Autograph Collection, which features independent four and five-star hotels that offer unique and distinctive experiences tailored to travelers who seek originality, character, and individual style in their accommodations. Located at 20301 Oakwood Blvd, Dearborn, Michigan, this opportunity is part of the Housekeeping and Laundry category and is available on a part-time basis with an overnight shift schedule. The pay rate for this role is $19.40 per hour, reflecting Marriott's competitive compensation practices for roles that are non-management in nature.
The role of Guest Environment Expert at the Marriott Autograph Collection is geared toward individuals passionate about creating an exceptional guest environment beyond the standard cleaning and maintenance tasks. This position involves a broad range of housekeeping responsibilities aimed at maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of the hotel property. The Guest Environment Expert is empowered to take initiative within their designated working area, performing vital housekeeping functions such as cleaning guest rooms, public spaces, and replenishing supplies. This hands-on role requires staff to actively contribute to operational excellence by ensuring that guest spaces embody the welcoming, comfortable, and high-quality atmosphere Marriott guests expect.
More than simply cleaning, the Guest Environment Expert plays a critical part in shaping the guest experience by ensuring that the hotel environment is orderly, inviting, and meticulously maintained. They fulfill guest requests promptly and efficiently, stock housekeeping carts with necessary items, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Standing, walking, and moving throughout the hotel property for extended periods is a physical demand of the role, along with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. This physicality underlines the hands-on nature of the job and the importance of maintaining high levels of safety and personal care.
Marriott International fosters a culture of inclusivity, valuing diversity and providing equal employment opportunities regardless of disability, veteran status, or any protected basis under applicable laws. The company encourages associates to bring their unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences to the workplace, creating a vibrant and welcoming work environment. As part of the Autograph Collection, employees have the opportunity to be part of a unique portfolio within Marriott that caters to travelers who are individuals, adventurers, and those who see travel as part of their personal narrative.
Joining Marriott as a Guest Environment Expert means becoming part of a global team dedicated to excellence, where each associate is supported to do their best work, begin their purpose, and belong to a community that celebrates individuality and professional growth. This role, although part-time and non-management, is a critical position in maintaining the standards and reputation of the Marriott Autograph Collection and, by extension, Marriott International’s mark of quality hospitality.
