Job Requirements
- Valid Texas Driver's License is required
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- One year of experience in a customer-focused position is required
- Must reside and work permanently in the State of Texas
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds frequently
- Ability to exert up to 10 pounds constantly
- Position may be security sensitive under Texas Education Code section 51.215
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in a customer-focused position
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Preferred: IAHSS certification as a security officer, including Certified Healthcare Security Officer, Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer, or Certified Health Security Supervisor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to public safety and ethical conduct
Job Duties
- Patrols university buildings and property on foot to prevent theft, vandalism or fire
- Responds to calls for service and provides requested services in a timely manner and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Actively screens all persons entering university facilities
- challenges persons without appropriate identification and all suspicious persons
- Performs other duties as assigned
