Job Requirements

  • Submit writing samples with application
  • Five or more years of Public Relations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or relevant field or additional two or more years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of PR's role in integrated marketing
  • Knowledge of offroad, motorsports, and automotive industries and media connections
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record of securing media coverage
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to plan detailed media events
  • Permanent US work authorization

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or relevant field or additional two or more years of relevant experience in place of a degree
  • Five or more years of proven Public Relations experience
  • Understanding of PR's role within a highly integrated marketing organization
  • Knowledge of the offroad, motorsports, and automotive industries, including existing media relationships in these sectors
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to uncover engaging stories aligned with business objectives and secure media coverage
  • Demonstrated project management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience planning media events with strong attention to detail
  • Authorized to work permanently in the US
  • Alignment with onX's company values
  • Availability for travel up to three times per quarter
  • Experience working in a matrix organization and collaborating cross-functionally

Job Duties

  • Manage all in-bound requests and outbound pitching for the Offroad vertical, building long-term relationships with journalists and media organizations, creating media lists, developing and hosting in-person media experiences and events
  • Collaborate with a PR agency managing media relationships, events, and coverage in the Backcountry vertical
  • Develop strategic storytelling by crafting narratives aligned with business strategies to promote products, technology, brand, stewardship initiatives, customers, and partners
  • Create compelling written and multimedia content to support product launches and brand initiatives
  • Integrate PR efforts within the wider marketing ecosystem, working with Product, Growth, Community, and Paid teams to amplify campaigns and initiatives
  • Act as a spokesperson for onX, preparing and supporting company representatives for interviews, speaking engagements, and mediated opportunities
  • Plan and execute PR strategies for key industry events including trade shows and consumer gatherings
  • Monitor industry trends, track media coverage, and analyze PR campaign effectiveness to make data-driven improvements
  • Lead crisis communications and reputation management efforts, ensuring thoughtful evaluation of outcomes
  • Demonstrate a passion for the outdoors, public land access, and off-roading in all PR activities
