Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience highly preferred
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • Attendance at all required meetings and trainings
  • Regular attendance in compliance with Highgate hotel standards

Job Duties

  • Maintain Highgate hotel standards in all assigned public areas including lobbies, business center, fitness center, restaurants, public restrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices, elevators, pool areas, parking garages, driveways
  • Complete special cleaning assignments and perform room attendant and house attendant duties as necessary
  • Communicate using proper two-way radio etiquette
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety of guests, employees, and self
  • Handle lost and found items according to hotel standards
  • Turn in all keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping Office at the end of shift
  • Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager
  • Assist with guestroom cleaning procedures when needed
  • Deliver clean linen to assigned sections if necessary
  • Pick up dirty linen or trash from room attendants
  • Collect and dispose of trash from service landings
  • Vacuum guest corridors
  • Keep hallways, public areas, and closets neat and organized
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms
  • Follow schedule for project cleaning of public areas
  • Maintain stairwells to hotel standards
  • Keep ash urns clean and filled with sand
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
