This role supports the company’s commitment to creating welcoming environments for guests and ensuring that the hotel meets high standards for hygiene and presentation. The company culture is centered on core values such as People Are Our Capability, Hearts That Serve, Only Excellence, Stay Nimble, and Own It, reflecting a workplace that values its employees and encourages a proactive approach to service and personal responsibility.
As a Public Area Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all public areas including hard and textile surfaces, restrooms, and employee spaces. Your duties will include cleaning windows and doorways to keep them free of fingerprints and smudges, ensuring furniture and floors are clean and well-organized, and taking care of any carpet spots to maintain a pristine appearance. You will be tasked with emptying waste receptacles and keeping elevators spotless. This position also involves compliance with safety protocols including the proper use of chemicals in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and procedures for protection against blood borne pathogens. In addition, you will be expected to follow the hotel’s sustainability guidelines and participate in the EarthView program, which aligns with the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
The work schedule for this role varies and may include holidays and weekends, reflecting the 24/7 operational nature of the hospitality industry. The position requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching, making it a physically active role suitable for individuals who thrive in dynamic, hands-on work environments. This role offers a clear growth path, with opportunities to advance to positions such as Room Inspector, Housekeeping Supervisor, and ultimately Executive Housekeeper, supporting professional development within the hospitality field. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous related experience preferred but not mandatory for entry. The position emphasizes adherence to safety standards including OSHA regulations and the use of protective safety equipment.
Joining HHM Hotels as a Public Area Attendant means becoming part of a team that values excellence, nimbleness, and ownership in their work.
