We are currently seeking enthusiastic and customer-oriented individuals to join our team at the Food Lion store located at 7071 Raeford Rd in Fayetteville, NC. This role involves working directly on the front end to enhance the customer service experience by adhering to Food Lion's customer service standards. As a Front End Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that customers receive fast, easy, flexible, and friendly service from the moment they enter the store until their purchase is complete. This position requires a commitment to smile and greet customers warmly, operate cash registers with accuracy, follow proper bagging procedures, and maintain a clean and organized front-end area.
The ideal candidate will assist the Customer Service Manager and the Assistant Customer Service Manager in upholding the standards outlined in the Front End Standard Practice Manual while maximizing sales through excellent customer service. Responsibilities include unloading customers' groceries efficiently, scanning and processing purchases, handling payment transactions including cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, and vouchers, as well as providing additional assistance such as taking customer orders to their vehicles when needed. This position requires alertness, teamwork, and adherence to company policies and safety guidelines.
Physical capability is essential for this role as associates will regularly bend, lift, push, and pull products and materials weighing up to 75 pounds. The environment may include exposure to varying temperatures and the handling of cleaning and packaging substances. Training is provided through computer-based training programs and ongoing development initiatives. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- Strong communication skills
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
- Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible
- Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt, unload items for ease of bagging such as grouping cold items together
- Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order
- Follow correct bagging procedures for the correct use of bags by type
- Scan customers' order and handle the payment transaction, per standard practice
- Avoid personal conversations with other associates when customers are present
