The part-time Receptionist role at PetVet Care Centers' Community Veterinary Clinic is integral to maintaining a high-performing environment dedicated to superior care and exceptional client service. This position involves handling a variety of administrative and customer service responsibilities to support the hospital’s smooth operation. The Receptionist is the welcoming face for clients and their pets, providing excellent service in person, over the phone, and managing challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
The Receptionist manages lobby flow, schedules appointments, and helps calm distressed pet owners, playing a crucial role in enhancing the overall client experience. Additionally, this role involves assisting with basic medical emergencies to safeguard the well-being of pets and their owners. The Receptionist also facilitates medication pickups, answers inquiries about services and products, and manages billing and account data through specialized practice management software.
Other responsibilities include supporting retail sales, weighing pets, handling communications like faxes, and maintaining accurate records. Financial duties like reconciling the cash drawer and performing end-of-day cash handling are also key components of this role. The ability to multitask efficiently and work well under pressure is essential to meet the clinic’s dynamic needs.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Ability to provide excellent customer service in person and by phone
- Accurate cash handling skills
- Ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Proficiency with practice management software preferred
- Flexible schedule availability including Monday to Saturday
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education certification training and/or experience
- Knowledge of clerical procedures and ability to organize files and records
- Excellent customer service skills including courteous and prompt assistance
- Accurate cash handling and cashiering skills
- Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work at a keyboard or workstation for extended periods
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing walking climbing and lifting animals up to 50 pounds
