Adaptability is also important, as the coordinator must adjust events based on client feedback and create backup plans for emergencies.

Customer experience is a fundamental aspect of this role. The Event Coordinator will help customers locate products, provide solutions, and promote Michaels’ rewards program and private label credit cards. They will also educate customers on the Voice of Customer (VOC) survey and assist with omni-channel retail operations including Buy Online Pickup In Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS). The role involves participation in routine operational tasks such as truck unloading, stocking, planogram implementation, merchandise recovery, and store cleanliness. The coordinator will support safety and shrink programs and adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and relevant laws.

Preferred candidates will have an energetic and enthusiastic personality, excellent people skills, and experience working with children and children’s events. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills are vital. Retail or customer service experience is required. Physical capabilities include standing for extended periods, moving throughout the store, bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching. The work environment is a public retail store with climate-controlled public areas and stockrooms, occasional outdoor work for tasks like cart retrieval or truck unloading, and variable hours including nights, weekends, and early mornings.
