Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience preferred
  • Minimum one year of medical office experience preferred
  • Ability to travel to all SBO locations
  • Ability to work flexible hours from 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday and 7 am to 5 pm on Friday
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Proficiency in computer typing with approximately 50 words per minute speed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior experience in customer service preferred
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred
  • Proficiency in computer software systems used in office environments
  • Knowledge of insurance coding and ability to handle communication with adjusters and nurse case managers
  • Strong communication skills both in person and on the phone
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing insurance policies

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors in a polite and helpful manner
  • Register new patients and check in established patients including obtaining insurance and demographic information
  • Answer phones and efficiently schedule therapy appointments
  • Collect co-payments, update insurance information, and handle necessary patient forms
  • Coordinate with Workman Compensation adjusters and nurse case managers to maintain schedules and authorizations
  • Enter therapy charges accurately for therapists daily
  • Scan patient charts and notes and prepare charts for new evaluations
  • Communicate effectively with therapy and orthopedic departments to ensure patient needs are met
