Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one year of customer service experience preferred
- Minimum one year of medical office experience preferred
- Ability to travel to all SBO locations
- Ability to work flexible hours from 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Thursday and 7 am to 5 pm on Friday
- Excellent phone etiquette
- Proficiency in computer typing with approximately 50 words per minute speed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in customer service preferred
- Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Proficiency in computer software systems used in office environments
- Knowledge of insurance coding and ability to handle communication with adjusters and nurse case managers
- Strong communication skills both in person and on the phone
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing insurance policies
Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a polite and helpful manner
- Register new patients and check in established patients including obtaining insurance and demographic information
- Answer phones and efficiently schedule therapy appointments
- Collect co-payments, update insurance information, and handle necessary patient forms
- Coordinate with Workman Compensation adjusters and nurse case managers to maintain schedules and authorizations
- Enter therapy charges accurately for therapists daily
- Scan patient charts and notes and prepare charts for new evaluations
- Communicate effectively with therapy and orthopedic departments to ensure patient needs are met
