Job Requirements
- Must be able to travel to all SBO locations
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and evenings
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
- Ability to multi-task effectively
- Clear communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of insurance coding and policies
- Familiarity with computer software and typing skills preferred (50 wpm)
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in customer service preferred
- Experience in medical office preferred
- Knowledge of insurance coding and billing processes
- Ability to navigate computer software systems
- Excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a polite and helpful manner
- Register new patients and check in established patients including obtaining correct ICD 10 codes and insurance information
- Answer phones and schedule therapy appointments promptly
- Update patient insurance information and collect co-payments
- Maintain a clean and orderly waiting area
- Coordinate services with other departments, outside referrals, and agencies
- Work closely with Workman Compensation adjusters and nurse case managers to manage authorizations and scheduling
- Enter therapy charges accurately for all PT/OT therapists daily
- Scan patient charts and notes
- Prep charts for new patient evaluations
- Process daily notes, progress notes, and evaluations for doctors' signatures
- Communicate with OT Department and Hand Surgeons regarding custom splint authorizations and scheduling
