Job Description

Within this dynamic and expansive organization, the Food Lion To-Go Associate position plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service that aligns with the company’s strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager and situated within the Front End department, this role focuses on providing fast, easy, flexible, and friendly service. The associate supports the Food Lion To-Go Lead in maintaining compliance with Food Lion’s standard practices and aims to maximize sales through outstanding customer interactions.

The Food Lion To-Go Associate engages directly with customers by greeting them warmly, using their names when possible, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. They are responsible for accurately shopping multiple customer orders using designated tools and equipment, including recognizing differences in produce items and substituting when necessary. The associate scans, bags, and labels purchases efficiently while following company policies strictly. Responsibilities also include verifying customer IDs for restricted items such as alcoholic beverages, assisting in order pickup, and completing accountability forms that track order accuracy.

In addition to customer-facing duties, the associate is expected to uphold the company’s guiding principles, core values, vision, and strategy, demonstrating behaviors that reflect these ideals consistently. Maintaining a neat appearance and adhering to the Food Lion dress code is necessary as the role requires wearing the Food Lion uniform and name badge. The Food Lion To-Go Associate also plays a part in controlling store expenses by properly using supplies like receipt tape, bags, and cleaning products. Safety is paramount, and associates must observe and correct unsafe conditions and notify Quality Assurance of any cleaning or maintenance issues related to the To-Go area.

Training and development are integral to this position, requiring successful completion of Computer Based Training (CBT) and other training aids. The role demands meeting physical requirements such as bending, lifting, standing for long periods, and tolerating extreme temperatures to ensure the thorough execution of duties.

Job Requirements
