Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)
- At least two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or one year plus an approved driving school diploma
- Ability to pass Department of Transportation physical exam
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- Must have Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Clean driving record with no license suspensions over 30 days within last 36 months
- No serious traffic violations within last 60 months
- No more than three motor vehicle violations or one at-fault accident in last 36 months
- Consent to employment background checks and work history verification
- Proficiency in English reading, writing, and math
- Willingness to comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations
- Availability to work Monday through Friday starting at 5 PM
- Ability to handle physical demands including frequent lifting, pulling and carrying
Job Qualifications
- Two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or one year coupled with an approved driving school diploma
- Pass a PITT OHIO driving test administered by an approved trainer
- Possess or obtain within 90 days a Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement except for sprinter truck drivers
- Hold only one valid driver’s license issued by the resident state
- No record of license suspension or revocation exceeding 30 days within 36 months
- No serious traffic violations within 60 months
- No pattern of more than three motor vehicle violations in 36 months
- No pattern of more than one at-fault traffic accident and two violations in 36 months
- Pass Department of Transportation physical examination
- Consent to pre-employment drug screening
- Provide negative controlled substance and alcohol test results from prior employers in the past three years
- No refusal to submit to alcohol or controlled substance tests in the past three years
- Consent to a ten-year work history check with explanation for any 30-day gaps
- Ability to read, write English and perform simple math calculations
Job Duties
- Drive commercial vehicles safely while picking up and delivering general freight
- Load and unload trailers individually or with dockworkers' assistance
- Use mechanical freight handling equipment where appropriate
- Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight
- Secure freight through strapping or other methods
- Inspect vehicles for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy
- Comply with all federal requirements regarding transportation of hazardous materials
- Drive tractor/trailer in all conditions following federal hours of service limitations
- Maintain required records for compliance with state and federal regulations
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations
