Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency degree
1-2 years grocery retail experience preferred
previous natural foods experience a plus
must maintain high customer service standards
ability to adapt in a high volume retail environment
strong initiative and problem-solving skills
flexibility and adaptability
strong attention to detail
excellent communication skills
proficiency with MS Office package
multitasking and organizational capability
team player mindset
availability to work varied hours and days
basic math knowledge
experience using POS systems

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency degree
preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in Front End department processes and procedures
previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
must maintain the highest level of customer service at all times
ability to adapt to high volume retail and work in a cross-functional team environment
capacity to take initiative when problems arise
flexibility to adapt in various situations
advanced attention to detail and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
excellent written communication and documentation skills
excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
ability to multitask and maintain organizational skills
ability to support and contribute to team goals
ability to work varied hours and days as business dictates
basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
demonstrated ability to use a Point of Sale System (POS)

Job Duties

Walks the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items
computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due
receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits
issues receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers
operates cash register by scanning or manually entering items to record price and display cost, tax, and rebates
greets customers entering store and responds promptly to customer needs
maintains clean and orderly checkout areas
issues coupons and rain checks
performs other duties as assigned
