The role open at Food Lion is within the Deli Bakery Department, where the primary focus is to deliver superior customer service and ensure products meet the company’s exacting standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, processing, and displaying deli and bakery products in accordance with Food Lion's strict quality and safety guidelines. The role requires a blend of customer service skills and technical knowledge of food preparation, handling, and safety. A keen attention to detail is necessary to adhere to production standards, proper labeling, and accurate inventory management. In addition to providing great service to customers, the role is critical for minimizing shrink and waste through proper stock handling and ordering techniques. The candidate will also be involved in maintaining the sanitation and cleanliness of the department and equipment, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company safety regulations. This position requires the associate to maintain a neat and professional appearance while wearing the Food Lion uniform and to continually support a positive shopping environment both for customers and fellow team members. Training and use of company systems such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and computerized ordering (CAO) will be part of the job.
