Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of alcoholic beverage service
- Previous hospitality or hotel experience preferred
- Ability to operate a cash register and handle monetary transactions
- Good communication skills
- Physical ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Must comply with state and federal regulations regarding alcohol service
- Available to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Job Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred
- Must communicate well with guests
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock
- Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale system
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
- Requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce
- Maintains stock, cuts and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
- Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- Abides by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for each guest
- Receives cash from guests, makes changes, verifies charges, records transactions and ensures vouchers are properly executed
- Locks and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- Complies with attendance rules and is available to work on a regular basis
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
