Job Description
Courtyard by Marriott is part of Marriott International, a leading global hospitality company known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and high standards of service. Courtyard by Marriott was designed specifically for business travelers and provides modern amenities to empower guests during their stay. This brand focuses on creating an atmosphere that balances comfort and productivity, combining stylish design with functional spaces such as meeting rooms, business centers, and dining options tailored for travelers. Marriott International is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive work environment that values diversity and aims to provide equal opportunities for all employees. The company proudly promotes a culture where associates, guests, and communities feel appreciated and respected, reinforcing its global reputation for hospitality excellence.
This role is based at the Courtyard by Marriott located at 1905 S Azusa Ave, Hacienda Heights, California, offering full-time employment. The role is classified as a non-management position with a pay rate of $27.35 per hour. As an Event Coordinator and Administrative Support Associate at this location, you will be a critical link in guaranteeing that events run smoothly and guests receive outstanding service. Your primary responsibility will be supporting general managers of the Managed Services Business (MSB) properties in executing events and ensuring guest satisfaction during their visits. You will serve as the main contact for guests who organize and attend meetings, providing attentive assistance to meet their needs and expectations from start to finish.
In addition to overseeing event operations, the role involves administrative support duties such as monitoring accounts payable and receivable related to event activities, and assisting with direct billing applications. You will also be responsible for collecting, developing, and updating property website content on Marriott.com, ensuring the property’s online presence remains current and engaging. The position requires collaboration with various departments including front desk, restaurant, finance, accounting, scheduling, sales, and general operations to maintain seamless support and service. When there is no support from a Regional Sales Office, you might take on full planning and coordination responsibilities for events.
The ideal candidate is someone who exemplifies Marriott’s high standards for professionalism, appearance, communication, and guest interaction. You should be adept at handling confidential information, have strong interpersonal skills, and be capable of performing physical tasks such as standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, and lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. This role also requires meticulous documentation, timely communication, positive teamwork, respectful guest interaction, and adherence to company policies. Weekend availability is preferred for keeping event support continuous. Marriott International emphasizes equal opportunity employment and actively fosters a workplace culture that celebrates the rich diversity of its associates. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a global brand that values its people and supports career development.
