Job Description
W Austin is a vibrant and luxurious hotel located in the heart of Austin, Texas, known for its unique style and dynamic atmosphere that embodies the spirit of the city. As part of the prestigious W Hotels collection under Marriott International, W Austin offers guests an unparalleled hospitality experience, blending sophistication with a playful cultural edge. Recognized for its modern design, exceptional service, and commitment to delivering memorable experiences, W Austin attracts a diverse clientele, from business travelers to leisure guests seeking comfort and excitement in equal measure. The hotel fosters an inclusive and welcoming environment, encouraging creativity and innovation among its team members to ensure that every guest encounter reflects its distinctive Whatever/Whenever service philosophy.
The Property Administrative Specialist role at W Austin plays a critical role in supporting the operational efficiency across various hotel departments such as guest services, engineering, and food and beverage. This full-time, non-management position involves providing essential administrative assistance, which includes preparing documents utilizing word processing software, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations. The role demands effective communication and coordination as the specialist serves as a vital link between the sales office and clients throughout the event lifecycle — before, during, and after events. This position not only ensures smooth procedural flow but also contributes to the overall guest experience by supporting different departments in their administrative needs.
Candidates in this role must embrace the hotel’s core values of maintaining a safe and professional workspace, adhering to company policies, and upholding stringent quality standards. Maintaining a polished personal appearance and professional communication are fundamental expectations. The role requires active engagement with fellow employees and departments, fostering strong work relationships to collaboratively meet common goals. Responsibilities also include reporting accidents, damages, and hazardous conditions to management, contributing to a safe environment for both staff and guests.
Physical stamina is necessary as the position involves moving, lifting (objects under 10 pounds), pushing, and handling materials without assistance. Employees are expected to stand, walk for extended periods, crouch, bend, stretch, and perform other reasonable physical tasks requested by supervisors. This role suits individuals who are proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
W Austin and Marriott International are committed to diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunity employment. The company values the unique cultural backgrounds, talents, and experiences of its associates, promoting a respectful workplace free from discrimination on any legally protected basis. Joining W Austin means becoming part of a global team dedicated to excellence and innovation in luxury hospitality. As a Property Administrative Specialist, you will have the opportunity to contribute your skills in an environment that encourages professional growth and personal development, all while being part of a world-renowned hotel brand that continuously redefines the luxury guest experience.
