Job Description
Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church (OLGC), located in Plymouth, Michigan, is a vibrant and welcoming faith community committed to offering every person in the community a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ. As a well-established parish, OLGC provides a wide range of spiritual, educational, and social programs designed to foster growth and connection among its members. Rooted in Catholic tradition and teachings, the church serves as a spiritual home for families and individuals seeking to deepen their relationship with God and actively participate in the life of the Church. OLGC’s mission is centered on faith formation, outreach, and community engagement, making it a cornerstone for many residents in the Plymouth area who share a common goal of living out their Catholic faith in meaningful ways.
The role of Promotions & Creative Coordinator at OLGC is a part-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting the church’s mission by enhancing the visibility and engagement of parish activities through effective marketing and communication strategies. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Human Resources and as a key member of the Marketing and Communications Team, the coordinator’s primary responsibility is to assist and equip ministry leaders, volunteers, and parishioners with high-quality creative materials and promotional campaigns. This role demands a blend of creative artistry and organized project management to design and implement print and digital communications that resonate with the diverse audience of the parish, school, and ministries.
The Promotions & Creative Coordinator will primarily focus on designing innovative promotional materials for campaigns, programs, events, and fundraisers, ensuring each initiative receives effective exposure and engagement. Collaboration is a vital part of this role, particularly with the Digital Media Coordinator, to produce the weekly print and electronic bulletins that keep parish members informed and connected. Managing online forms and registrations via digital tools, evaluating the effectiveness of promotional efforts, and providing actionable insights for future campaigns also form key aspects of the job.
Brand stewardship is another important facet of this position. The coordinator will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and consistency of OLGC’s brand assets including logos, colors, fonts, photography, and video materials. By ensuring all communications align with the church’s brand guidelines, the coordinator helps strengthen OLGC’s identity and fosters trust within the community. Additionally, working alongside the Digital Media Manager, the coordinator will facilitate capturing and editing professional-grade photos and videos to highlight the church’s programs and offerings.
Ideal candidates for this position will have proven experience in graphic design, complemented by strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite—especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, as the role requires managing multiple projects simultaneously and mentoring others in creative marketing endeavors. Above technical skills, a deep personal devotion to Jesus Christ and full alignment with Catholic teachings are imperative. The successful candidate will share OLGC’s passion for its vision and mission, contributing not just as a designer but as a committed member of the church community with an apostolic heart.
This part-time role of not more than 19 hours per week offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a faith-filled environment that values creativity, collaboration, and community impact. Candidates are encouraged to submit their resumes, cover letters, and statements of faith in PDF format by April 1, 2026, to be considered for this impactful role at OLGC.
