The company is distinguished by its forward-thinking approach to specialty concrete work, using advanced technologies and methods to achieve superior project outcomes. It supports a diverse and inclusive work environment, welcoming professionals from a range of backgrounds to contribute to the ongoing success of the business. The Project Superintendent role at Baker Construction is a critical leadership position in the company, offering candidates the chance to engage deeply with medium to large-scale projects, including prime contracts. This position involves directly overseeing project work, managing teams of subordinate superintendents and broader staff, while coordinating with other trades to ensure smooth project execution. The Project Superintendent is tasked with maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity — collectively known as the SQP culture — to deliver projects successfully and profitably.
In this role, the Project Superintendent will play a key part in project planning, staff oversight, and fostering strong client relations. By directing the work from planning stages through execution, the superintendent ensures that resources are used effectively to achieve project goals within time and budget constraints. Building and sustaining professional relationships with clients and industry stakeholders is another vital component of the role, ensuring clear communication and confidence in Baker Construction’s capabilities.
Working at Baker Construction means being part of a team that values collaboration and growth. Candidates selected for this position will have opportunities to participate in ongoing training programs and certifications that enhance their professional skillset. Safety is a paramount concern, and the superintendent will actively promote a safe work environment that aligns with company policies and industry standards.
This position requires up to 25 percent travel, providing exposure to a variety of job sites and geographic locations. The Project Superintendent should possess a solid educational foundation typically demonstrated by a bachelor’s degree and at least six years of relevant experience in construction management or a related field. Experience with line and grade work, foreman duties, and formwork systems is essential. Craft certifications may also be required depending on the project scope.
Baker Construction offers an environment where driven professionals can thrive by taking ownership of their careers and making a meaningful impact. Competitive pay, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to work with some of the best minds in the industry make this an ideal career choice for those eager to contribute and grow in specialty concrete construction.
