The Project Manager – Rigging Logistics role at The Freeman Company is crucial in ensuring the flawless execution of event rigging logistics. Based out of Las Vegas, NV, this position operates on a hybrid work schedule requiring presence both in-office and onsite for events approximately 2-3 days per week. The primary responsibility of this role is managing operational rigging logistics to enhance efficiency, control costs, and ensure smooth communication between sales teams, event operations, and Freeman Electric. This role demands strategic planning, organization, and leadership to oversee all phases of operational activity before, during, and after events.

Supporting the Audio Visual and Event Technology team, the Project Manager will actively participate in site surveys, production planning, staffing coordination, and budget management. The position requires collaboration with multiple departments to prepare production workbooks, develop labor schedules, manage equipment logistics, and review technical plans including CAD layouts. The role also involves direct supervision of rigging operations onsite to guarantee timeliness and cost-effective execution.

Additionally, the Project Manager will assist with trucking coordination, conduct pre- and post-event meetings, and ensure proper billing and documentation are maintained. Strong communication skills are essential for updating on-site staff and liaising across teams to facilitate seamless event execution. This position encourages operational innovation and meticulous attention to detail to uphold the company’s high standards.

This role is ideal for individuals with strong technical rigging knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suites, and experience in managing complex logistics under tight deadlines. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years experience in overhead rigging preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Proficient with Google Sheets and Google Docs
  • Technical overhead rigging training required
  • Willingness to travel 50 to 75 percent
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule based in Las Vegas, NV

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with relevant work experience
  • Minimum 4 years experience in overhead rigging preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Proficient with Google Sheets and Google Docs
  • Understanding of rigging safety procedures preferred
  • Familiarity with exposition work tickets preferred
  • Familiarity with local union jurisdictions and rules preferred
  • Technical overhead rigging training required
  • ETCP Certified Arena Rigger preferred

Job Duties

  • Provides technical advice and assists sales in the budgetary and developmental process of shows
  • Participates in site surveys as needed to ensure proper planning of events
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of operational activities for assigned events
  • Attends weekly operations and sales meetings and provides event information input
  • Prepares production work books, reviews equipment totals and prepares non-bar code item requests
  • Reviews equipment requirements to determine personnel and labor schedules
  • Determines staffing needs and ensures that all labor requirements are submitted to the proper departments and or labor sources
  • Supervises show site rigging operational functions to ensure they are performed in a timely and cost effective manner as assigned by supervisor
  • Communicates operational plans to show-site staff as required
  • Maintains daily contact with on-site staff documenting changes and updates as required
  • Works directly within R2 to ensure complete equipment coverage on shows
  • Assists in the scheduling and coordination of trucking arrangements
  • Develops production schedules, reviews CAD plans, and facility arrangements for events as required
  • Schedules and conducts pre and post-conference meetings
  • Conducts a post show meeting with the Account Executives to review all purchase orders, labor costs and equipment usage to ensure proper billing to the customer
  • Requests purchase orders and approves all invoices associated with each
  • Compiles and produces post show reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned
