Known for excellence, HME delivers highly accurate, dependable, and responsive customer service, earning the trust and preference of contractors not only in the Midwest but nationwide.
HME is part of The Haas Group, a dynamic conglomerate comprising six companies and fourteen divisions. With headquarters and shops in Topeka, Kansas, and offices spanning three states, The Haas Group operates with a workforce of over 700 employees. The Group's operations cover various sectors, including structural steel, precision machining, heavy equipment rentals, commercial doors and hardware, engineered railing and ladder systems, and powersports. The diversity and size of The Haas Group provide employees with expansive opportunities for growth, success, and long-term career advancement.
HME offers an inviting and family-focused culture that values hard work and celebrates achievements. From hosting recreational activities like golf and cornhole tournaments to organizing family events and memorable holiday parties, the company fosters team camaraderie and a vibrant work atmosphere. Employees benefit from competitive and weekly pay, unmatched shift differentials, company bonuses, and a 401(k) plan with company match, among other perks. Notably, HME provides 100% paid health insurance for employees and their families or a health insurance differential, along with dental and vision insurance, short-term disability, supplemental insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays. Flexible schedules and multiple shifts are available, alongside on-the-job training to ensure continuous employee development.
The Project Manager role at HME entails overseeing all facets of construction projects from planning through implementation. This position demands a dedicated professional adept in managing risks, ensuring the completion of milestones and deliverables, and consistently meeting or surpassing customer expectations. The successful candidate will facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers, to build strong, lasting relationships based on trust.
Ideal candidates for this role possess experience in construction management or hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field. They should have the ability to read and interpret contract drawings and specifications and preferably have knowledge of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and construction management software. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management, analytical abilities, and negotiation skills are critical to succeed. The company values inclusive hiring and is an Equal Opportunity Employer that promotes employment based on merit, competence, and qualifications regardless of gender, race, or other protected statuses.
By joining HME, professionals become part of a legacy that prioritizes quality, innovation, and employee well-being, positioning themselves for meaningful career growth within a leading company in the structural steel fabrication and construction management industry.
