Job Description

DC Fabricators is a well-established company with a rich history of over 55 years in supplying high-quality equipment specifically designed for the United States Navy. Located in Florence, New Jersey, DC Fabricators specializes in engineering and fabricating advanced heat transfer equipment directly at their manufacturing site. As a leading manufacturer, the company is dedicated to providing essential components such as large steam surface condensers, water-to-water heat exchangers, and oil coolers that are crucial for the operation of nuclear submarines and surface ships, including aircraft carriers. Their products are engineered to meet stringent heat transfer requirements while enduring the demanding conditions encountered at sea, such as seawater pressure, underwater explosions, galvanic corrosion, erosion, thermal fatigue, high velocity vibration, and thermal loading.

DC Fabricators is currently seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is integral to supporting new designs as well as addressing ongoing engineering challenges that arise during the manufacture of these critical products. The Project Engineer will be involved in a range of technical activities including structural and machine design, heat transfer and thermodynamics assessments, vibration analysis, and materials science. The position requires collaboration across multiple departments, including drafting personnel, quality control teams, suppliers, and shipyard customers, to ensure that project objectives and specifications are met with precision and efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, especially in areas related to structural analysis and heat transfer, and should exhibit technical leadership skills to guide projects from conception through completion. New graduates who have relevant academic exposure and enthusiasm to learn in a manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply. Additionally, the role involves preparing detailed engineering documentation ranging from concise summaries to extensive technical reports, reviewing drawings, preparing bills of materials, and material procurement specifications. Exceptional computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, along with ERP system experience, are important for this position. Since the company works closely with defense-related government projects, candidates must be U.S. citizens at the time of hire. This opportunity allows professionals to engage in meaningful work that supports national defense while advancing their engineering careers within a reputable and stable organization.
