The Project Crew Member role at KBS is an entry-level, full-time, permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team focused on making an impact on workplace safety and cleanliness. The role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks that ensure client facilities are preserved to the highest standards. Ideal candidates are those who enjoy working in fast-paced environments and take pride in their contributions to maintaining safe, sanitary, and attractive spaces. This position offers a starting pay rate of $16.94 per hour with flexible shifts that may include days, nights, and weekends. Employees will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects that range from routine cleaning duties to specialized floor care techniques and minor repair work. There is also the potential for extensive regional driving, with occasional overnight shifts required, making the role suitable for individuals comfortable with travel.
This role is pivotal in supporting the overall operations of KBS’s numerous client sites by delivering consistent, high-quality cleaning and maintenance services. Duties include cleaning hard surface floors through sanitizing, scrubbing, stripping, and finishing, as well as specialized tasks like burnishing and steam-cleaning carpets. Additionally, Project Crew Members will manage window cleaning, pressure washing, minor wall repairs, trash collection, restroom servicing, and furniture polishing. This multifaceted role demands attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive approach to identifying facility repair needs and requisitioning supplies. As part of the KBS team, employees contribute not only to facility upkeep but also to the health and safety of the environments they serve.

- Experience in building and warehouse cleaning and maintenance work
- knowledge of proper floor care techniques for a variety of floor types
- ability to travel to various work sites
- ability to work nights, days and weekends
- present and maintain valid driver license
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemicals sheets/documents
Job Qualifications
- Experience in building and warehouse cleaning and maintenance work
- knowledge of proper floor care techniques for a variety of floor types (e.g., vinyl, tile, carpet, concrete, hardwood)
- ability to travel (drive) to various work sites
- ability to work nights/days and weekends
- present and maintain valid driver license
- ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safe handling for chemical sheets/documents (generally in English
- may have in Spanish where state required)
Job Duties
- Clean hard surface floors (sanitize, scrub, strip and finish)
- scrub and burnish special floor surfaces (e.g., gymnasium floors)
- steam-clean or shampoo carpets
- extract carpet using carpet extractor
- wash windows
- pressure wash floor/building using pressure washer
- perform minor wall repairs
- gather and empty trash
- service, clean, and supply restrooms
- clean and polish furniture and fixtures
- clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
- dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
- notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
- requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- back up for crew members in territory when needed
- potential for extensive driving often within a radius of four to five states
- occasional overnight shifts may be required
